Sacrament of Penance (Confession)

“In the Sacrament of Penance the faithful truly ‘obtain pardon from the mercy of God for the offenses committed against him and are at the same time reconciled with the Church, which they have wounded by their sins and which by charity, example, and prayer seeks their conversion’”.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has received approval for a revised Order of Penance. The First use date of the new Ritual text is Ash Wednesday and it will be required for use on Divine Mercy Sunday, 2023. Learn more about the new/revised Order of Penance.
