Celebrate with UsThe annual diocesan celebration in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be celebrated on Saturday, December 7 in Downtown Austin. Catholics across Central Texas will gather to celebrate and reflect on the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Juan Diego at Tepeyac, Mexico, in December 1531.
Join us for a celebration of Holy Mass at 10:30 a.m.As the Diocese of Austin is richly blessed with a variety of cultural traditions, and linguistic and ethnic groups, we invite those attending to wear traditional clothing to this event if you are able. In celebrating the ability, richness and customs in which the genius of each people expresses itself (Lumen Gentium, 13), the church purifies and unites the local church to participate in our common mission to draw all to Christ’s saving Gospel.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas and Star of the New Evangelization, pray for us!

Event Schedule7:30 a.m. | Gather at St. Mary Cathedral for the Procession
Attendees can enjoy some coffee and pan dulce (sweet bread) in the Bishop's Hall before the procession
8:00 a.m. | Blessing and Procession Departure
The procession departs from St. Mary Cathedral to San José Parish in Austin. For those who are unable to join the procession, the rosary will be prayed inside the church at San José Parish.
10:30 a.m. | Mass celebration with Father James Misko, Vicar General for the Diocese of Austin
Mass will be held at San José Parish in Austin.
Theme: "Bringing Christ's light to the world by seeking justice and peace for all peoples"
12:00 p.m. | Fellowship at San José's Parish Hall
There will be music and dances to enjoy with family and friends. Food and beverages will be available for purchase to support evangelization efforts in San Jose Parish. Fellowship concludes at 1:00 p.m.

Procession Information
Participants will gather outside of St. Mary Cathedral at 203 E. 10th Street in Austin. The procession is 3.2 miles (5k) walk and takes about 2 hours to complete.
Parking at St. Mary Cathedral
Parking is available at the Capitol Towers Parking Garage located at 940 San Jacinto Blvd which is located behind St. Mary Cathedral. Click here for more information.

We invite parishes, schools, organizations, and ministries to participate in the procession from St. Mary's Cathedral to San José Parish and to the celebration of the Eucharist in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
