As we continue our Lenten journey, let us commit to fully immerse ourselves in these days of prayer and conversion.
On February 17, I had the privilege of celebrating the Rite of Election at St. Margaret Mary Parish in Cedar Park and welcomed 452 individuals who are now called the “Elect.” These individuals are in their final preparations to be initiated into the Catholic Church through the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist at the Easter Vigil. Please pray for the Elect as they continue their journey toward the Easter sacraments.
Brothers and sisters, make haste during these remaining weeks of Lent! Make room for Jesus in your heart, strive to turn away from sin, and know that Christ is with you on this journey. May your faith be renewed as we draw closer to the celebration of Christ’s Passion, Death and Resurrection.
Let us recall the words from the hymn, Lord, Who Throughout These Forty Days:
“As you did hunger bear and thirst,
So teach us, gracious Lord,
To die to self, and always live
By your most holy word.”
These words express our desire to be renewed during this holy season of Lent.
