January begins a new year and brings a renewed sense of hope in God’s providence. Annually, the Diocese of Austin observes important diocesan events that demonstrate the vibrancy of our Catholic faith community. Last week, we celebrated our Catholic schools with the annual gala, and the commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This coming week, we will be celebrating the Vietnamese New Year and the Pro-Life Masses, march and rally.
Tomorrow is a special day in the Diocese of Austin as I dedicate St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manor, the first of five new sanctuaries to be dedicated in 2023. I congratulate Father Henry Cuellar Jr., pastor, and the entire parish family of St. Joseph’s.
As we continue the Eucharistic Revival, may the Lord deepen our awareness of the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith that forms us into the Mystical Body of Christ.
