During this holy season of Lent, we are invited to make the Lord’s journey our own. We unite ourselves to Christ and enter into the mystery of his death and resurrection. Receiving ashes and being marked with the sign of the cross on our foreheads is a reminder of this penitential season of grace. Lent is a time of renewal allowing our savior, Jesus Christ, to make us whole and new again so that we may carry out his mission.
In the Diocese of Austin, we work together with common purpose and vision to continue God’s work in building the Kingdom of God. Thank you for your generosity to the Catholic Services Appeal which allows the diocese to continue that mission. This year’s theme, Christ makes all things new, reminds me that there is no suffering that Jesus has not already borne on the Cross; and there is no brokenness that cannot be redeemed by his Resurrection.
During our Lenten journey, you and your loved ones will be in my prayers. May the Blessed Mother intercede for us and draw us closer to her Son.
