Adult leaders are called to more than simply chaperone; they are not called just to make sure that the teens obey the rules and stay safe but we are called to be living witnesses of Christ’s love. We will discuss this role and other important information in a Q & A format to help you prepare your group for DCYC. The meeting will be bilingual. Please plan to attend one of the three meetings.

PARENTING THE INTERNET GENERATION Pornography is a pervasive problem today for people of all ages, especially teens. However, many parents aren’t sure how to protect their families, beyond using traditional internet filters. In this presentation, Matt Fradd offers parents a detailed look at the way pornography harms us and offers practical strategies that parents need to implement if they are to protect their children from the lies of an over-sexualized culture. Feb. 20: Eagle’s Wings Retreat Center (EWRC) will host a one-day Confirmation retreat facilitated by the STRONG Retreat Team from the University Catholic Center. COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed throughout the retreat. Cost of registration is $50 per person and teens must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is limited to 40 people and may be found at ewrc.org. This retreat is designed for smaller parishes or those individuals who may be unable to attend their parish Confirmation retreat. This unique retreat experience is geared towards students preparing for the sacrament of confirmation. Parents are asked to attend this one-day event with the student. Adults involved in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Troops of St. George, American Heritage Girls or Camp Fire are invited to an adult Catholic scout training. At this training, leaders are formed on the topic of scouting as youth ministry through Lay Apostolate Formation and receive certification as a Catholic religious emblem counselor. The event will also be offered via zoom. Pre-registration is requested.

TEC Retreat TEC (Together Encounter Christ) is an intergenerational movement focused on the Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ. TEC is a three day retreat that welcomes you into a greater community focused on living our Catholic-Christian faith daily. Weekends are filled with witness talks, group discussions, personal reflections/prayer, recreations and live music. The TEC retreat is for young adults ages 17 (or a 2nd semester junior) and up.
