2018 Synod on Young People

Pope Francis has called for a survey to document the experiences of young people (ages 16-30s) in order to prepare for the 2018 Synod of Bishops on the theme “young people, faith and vocational discernment.”

Locally, the Diocese of Austin is conducting this survey of various audiences, including Catholic and non-Catholic young people, as well as those who know and work with young people (ages 16-30s) in families, parishes and communities. The diocese stretches from West, Texas, (just north of Waco) in the north to San Marcos in the south to the Bryan/College Station area in the east to Mason in the west. Its largest metropolitan areas are Austin, Bryan/College Station, the Killeen/Temple/Belton area and Waco. Bishop Joe S. Vásquez serves as the fifth bishop of the Diocese of Austin.

Your response will assist Pope Francis and Bishop Vásquez in understanding and developing support for the lived experience of young people (ages 16-30s) today.
