Job Description: 

San Juan Diego Catholic High School, a vibrant and friendly faith-based community, is looking for a part-time bus driver to transport students to-and-from their Corporate Internship (work study) sites. Starting pay is $30.00 per route.

Duties: 

Operates school vehicle in a safe and efficient manner--being attentive to traffic and weather conditions while staying on schedule and ensuring the safety of passengers.
Ensures that their vehicle is operating properly each day by inspecting the brakes, tires and other mechanical components.
Follows all traffic laws and is in compliance with Federal and Texas motor vehicle regulations.
Drives all routes exactly as designated in writing.
Responsible for maintaining a safe environment within the bus by enforcing rules of conduct
and responding to emergencies.
Maintains daily travel logs including the amount of fuel used and miles driven, which is turned in weekly to the Transportation Coordinator.
Reports all accidents, vehicle damage, and student injuries to the Director of Transportation.
May include light lifting under 40 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Must be at least 25 years of age.
Applicant must be certified as per the following: a valid State of Texas issued drivers license and/or valid State of Texas commercial drivers license (CDL). A CDL is preferred.
Must be an insured driver.
This position requires understanding of Texas motor vehicle laws.
Applicant must be able to read and write.
Applicant must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with school officials.
Applicant must foster an environment of cooperation and respect with the students.
A motor vehicle record check and a criminal background check will be performed.
Applicant must complete a Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity Ministry (EIM) Workshop.
