Coordinator of Youth Ministry
The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the parish (St. Louis King of France Catholic Church and School – Austin, Texas) which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the parish. In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Positions employed at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church and School – Austin, Texas help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.
This position visions and leads overall youth ministry at the parish, including High School Sunday evening Young Church, Middle School Youth Ministry, retreats, mission trips, national youth convention trips, local service projects, and all other Youth Ministry activities. The Coordinator of Youth Ministry will partner directly with the Coordinator of High School Confirmation, bridging Sacramental preparation to discipleship formation in the parish and the wider community.
Skills we are looking for in our next Youth Ministry Coordinator include: excellent communication, bilingual capabilities, an understanding of budgets, computer and social media strategies, team building, a strong work ethic, and a desire to form our young Catholics in their relationship with Jesus Christ through the life of the Church.
The coordinator must be a practicing Catholic who is faithful to all that the Church holds to be true.
