"I think God is calling me to religious life... now what?"

young religiousOften when a man or woman experiences a sense of God’s call in his or her life, questions arise. The decision to ‘become a religious order priest, brother or sister’ may be accompanied by practical questions. To remove some of the mystery about religious life -- discerning a ‘call’ -- the following information is offered. Of course, there are some variations in the journey depending on a person's life experience and the community.

Some contact the Vocation Director with a certainty that God is calling them to religious life. However, most enter formation asking, “Is God calling me?” The house of formation is the place to prayerfully discern the questions.

If you feel God may be calling you to religious life, take the first step to Jesus’ invitation: “come and see.” (John 1:39)
