Pastoral Care
Project Rachel is a ministry to help women and men who suffer emotionally or spiritually because of an abortion. Lay counselors, lay volunteers, deacons and priests are available to work with post-abortive women and men. Project Rachel Retreats are offered on weekends for post-abortive men and women. The Gabriel Project, is a parish response and the Good Samaritan approach toward helping pregnant women in need. It involves a network of churches standing together in their willingness to offer assistance to women facing crisis pregnancies. Over 40 parishes in the Diocese of Austin have a Gabriel Project.

Austin Gabriel Project Life Center is located in Austin in the Catholic Charities Building at 1817 E 6th Street Center. Call (512) 236-0144 for an appointment and assistance. Walk-ins are welcome.
The Pro-life Helpline is available for women and men to access help from both Project Rachel and Gabriel Project. Trained volunteers are scheduled to answer incoming calls, which are forwarded into the volunteer's home.

Annunciation Maternity Home is located in Georgetown and offers long-term housing to pregnant minors with or without children. The home has a charter school for its residents and non-residents who qualify. Call (512) 864-7755 for more information.
Our Lady of the Angels Maternity Shelter offers housing to pregnant women with or without children on a short-term basis. Located in Temple, it serves the Central Texas area. It is licensed, incorporated and has 501c3 status. Call (254) 742-2340 for more information.
