Pro-Life Ministries and Activities
The objectives of the Office of Pro-Life Activities are fourfold: spiritual, pastoral, educational, and legislative. Its efforts are in tandem with the U.S. Catholic Conference's Pro-Life Secretariat and the Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities.
Prayer and Worship
Prayer is of utmost importance in bringing about a conversion of heart and mind for all to be open to God's special gift of life. Prayer is our source of inspiration, wisdom and strength in our efforts.
Pastoral Care
Viable alternatives are available to pregnant women and their families. Counseling and reconciliation is offered to those who have experienced an abortion. Other opportunities to help the less fortunate, weak and vulnerable are encouraged as ministries.
Public Information and Education
Clear and concise information about life issues is directed toward the general public, and an educational program to inform and strengthen convictions is directed toward our Catholic community.
Legislative and Public Policy
Efforts are in close cooperation with Texas Catholic Conference and the National Committee for the Human Life Amendment to address and change those laws which are unjust and which ignore or violate fundamental human rights.
