Deacon Ron Walker is the director. His office supports deacons, whose purpose is to live and proclaim the Gospel message in the diocese. Deacon Butch Prewitt serves as the Associate Director for Formation for candidates seeking ordination in 2010. Deacon Tom Johnson serves as the Associate Director for Aspirancy. The office also helps to identify and encourage men called by God to the ordained ministry of the diaconate. It fosters an awareness of the gifts the diaconate offers to clergy, religious, and laity.
