"As our Holy Father said recently, 'Beauty is ... a clear expression of mankind's highest aspirations and manifestations of the glory of God.' Art is a reflection of the divine within the human being and that is why the church has always tried to respect, support and ... use the art effectively." Bishop John McCarthy
The mission of the Religious Fine Arts Council is to act as a catalyst and lead a renaissance in visual religious fine art with a focus on the Judeo-Christian faith.
The Council is open to all who are interested in supporting its mission. For more information about our meeting times or about joining the Council contact Mark Landers.

Celebrating Sacred Art 2009 - Expressions of Family
The Diocesan Fine Arts Council hosted a religious art show and sale called Celebrating Sacred Art 2009 at St. Edwards’ University on Saturday, April 18, 2009. The show was held in the Mabee Ballroom on the third floor of the Ragsdale Center at St. Edward’s University. The show was free and open to the public from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. The show featured displays of fine art as well as displays of student religious art from schools in the diocese. The “Best of Show” artworks from the schools will be hung in the current exhibit in the new Sacred Art Gallery.
This religious art show has been a very successful biennial event, so the next show will be Celebrating Sacred Art 2011. Please continue to check this webpage (www.austindfac.org) for updates on this upcoming show.
