The Public Square Rosary Campaign will host these rallies in which people will come together to pray the rosary. The Austin rally on Oct. 11 will begin with Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Cathedral and then participants will process to the grounds of the state Capitol where the rosary will be prayed. | Mon, Nov 24 | 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM | Pilgrimage for Life | Under the auspices of the Texas Catholic Conference, the first Pilgrimage for Life will take place in Huntsville, Texas, on Monday November 24, 2008, 9 am – 12 noon. Starting at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 1323 16th St. Huntsville, Texas. The Pilgrimage will take place in Huntsville because that is the site of the prison where executions take place. As of January 1, 2008, 405 people have been executed in this prison. Texas is the leading execution state in the nation by a 4 to 1 margin. The Pilgrimage for Life will be inclusive of all life issues. As such, the pilgrimage will include the Planned Parenthood facility in Huntsville although no abortions take place at this facility. It will also include the Walls Prison where executions take place. The pilgrimage will be led by Cardinal DiNardo and several Texas bishops. It will start out with Mass at St. Thomas Catholic Church and will include Stations of the Cross. The route through Huntsville is approximately three miles, so good walking shoes should be brought. Information on hotels/motels in the Huntsville area will be provided. Huntsville is approximately 1.5 hours north of Houston. Take Exit 116 off I-45.
