A message from Bishop Vásquez

Congratulations to Fathers Payden Blevins, Sean DeWitt, Gregory Gerhart, Froy Jerez and Amado Ramos who were ordained to the Order of Presbyter on July 9. We thank all those who served and participated in the Mass and those who planned and volunteered at the reception following the Mass.

Reflection question

Gospel meditation

Consider using the following meditation for the 18th Sunday in Ordinary (July 31):
  • Consumerism often leads us to have more earthly treasures than we need. In today's Gospel, Jesus warns us against storing up too many earthly treasures because one's life "does not consist of possessions." Instead, he tells us to focus on being "rich in what matters to God." What can we do daily to enrich our spiritual lives?
