The Friday E-Pistle (Oct. 16, 2015)
A message from Bishop Vásquez
Implementing the New Pastoral Plan
On Oct. 12 at St. Mary Cathedral in Austin the 2015 Pastoral Plan was presented to pastors and parish representatives. Parishes received the entire plan booklet, posters and handouts. The implementation process has begun. Parishes are encouraged to read the entire plan and distribute copies to ministry leaders. The study guide will soon be available for people to use as they reflect on the content of the plan. All materials are presented in English and Spanish. They will be made available in Vietnamese and Korean on the diocesan website. Additional details about the Pastoral Plan can be found at www.austindiocese.org/pastoralplan.
Please consider using the following meditation for the feast of All Saints (Nov. 1):
- Saints are those who have experienced a profound encounter with God and who have committed to following the Lord Jesus. Saints embody the Gospel, the good news of God’s love. The Beatitudes list ways of holy living. God encounters us in our daily lives. God has invited us to holiness – to be saints. When does my life not reflect the Beatitudes? How can I spend more time with the Lord to learn to recognize his voice?

Please consider Bishop Vásquez’ prayer intention for the feast of All Saints (Nov. 1):
- For the faithful gathered here today, that we would embrace God’s call to holiness becoming poor in spirit, peacemakers and people of mercy …
Blessings and congratulations to …
