Reflection question

Gospel Meditation

Please consider using the following meditation for the 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Aug. 9):

  • Jesus invites us to believe in Him as the Bread of Life. May our understanding of the sacrament of Eucharist deepen each time we come to Mass.
  • Jesús nos invita a creer en Él como el Pan de Vida. Que nuestro entendimiento del sacramento de la Eucaristía se haga más profundo cada vez que venimos a Misa.

Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center

Upcoming retreat

Prayer and Temperament Using the Myers-Briggs will be held Aug. 7-9 at Cedarbrake Catholic Retreat Center in Belton. Knowing something about temperament can give us many insights into the way we act and pray. Our temperaments influence the direction we will take in our relationship with God. There are different prayer forms for different personalities and we will spend the weekend exploring those. The fee for the Myers-Briggs Instrument will be included in the cost for the weekend retreat. Beverly Collin, a certified MBTI practitioner, will facilitate this retreat. Cost is $195 private room, $160 per person for a shared room, and $85 for a commuter (no room). For more information or to register, contact Cedarbrake at (254) 780-2436 or cedarbrake@austindiocese.org.

Stewardship and Development

PDS Update

We are glad to announce that we will finish our parish conversions to PDS by the end of the July. Thanks to all the parishes for their help, support and focus as we near the end of this year-long project. We are excited about the new database capabilities, the support structure that PDS offers and the roadmap of program enhancements as we move forward.  Moving to a new database is a major undertaking and thanks to your support, it has gone very smoothly.

As of Aug. 15, access to ChurchDB will no longer be available. All parishes should stop using ChurchDB before Aug. 15.

Our diocesan database team, along with PDS and David Cotton of Trinity Publications will continue to offer you updates, tips and guidelines on a regular basis. The move to PDS will offer you state-of-the-art solutions to the issues you face on a daily basis.

If you have questions, please contact Lisa Rosenberger at (512) 949-2450 or visit www.austindiocese.org/pds.

EIM Basic and Refresher Workshops

Click here to login to your EIM account in order to find the workshop schedule and Sign Up for a Workshop (bottom right of your account page). Instructions are provided in case you do not recall how to login to your EIM account. Please contact your parish or Catholic school EIM site administrator if you need assistance or if you do not have Internet access. For general information about EIM workshops, please click here.

EIM Basic and Refresher Workshops are scheduled by the EIM Office, coordinating with the EIM site administrator at parishes, schools and other diocesan agencies. Staff of any site wishing to host a workshop should coordinate with their EIM site administrator. If the site administrator has arranged workshop details with a facilitator, then an email to the EIM office with those details is sufficient to request a workshop; otherwise workshop requests should be made by the site administrator using the Workshop Request Table. EIM site administrators may direct inquiries about EIM workshop scheduling to Emily Hurlimann in the EIM Office at (512) 949-2447.
