Congratulations to Deacons Froy Jerez, Sean DeWitt, Payden Blevins, Amado Ramos, Greg Gerhart and Everardo Cazares who were ordained by Auxiliary Bishop Daniel E. Garcia as transitional deacons on July 11. Thank you to all who prepared and participated in this liturgy and celebration.

Confirmation scheduling

Parishes may now submit a request for scheduling a Confirmation liturgy for 2016. A letter was mailed Wednesday to all pastors with instructions on how to submit a request online. Requests should be submitted by Aug. 21. The online system is available at http://www.austindiocese.org/confirmation.

Catholic Night at the Round Rock Express

This year, Aug. 3 will be Catholic Night at the Round Rock Express. Please invite your parishioners to attend. Parishes can receive rebates up to $3 on every ticket they sell. So, this could be used as a fundraiser. It is also $1 hotdog and soda night. Please note that orders must be placed by July 30 with the Round Rock Express. See this flier for more information.

Reflection question

Gospel Meditation

Please consider using the following meditation for the 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Aug. 2):

  • The people wanted to see a sign (miracle) from Jesus. They wanted manna yet they had something greater than manna right in front of them and did not see it. Do you give time to pray in Jesus' presence, who is fully present in the Eucharist, in front of the tabernacle or at adoration?
