A message from Bishop Vásquez

Fortnight for Freedom

The Fortnight for Freedom concluded on Independence Day. I would like to thank all the priests, deacons, religious and faithful who sponsored and participated in events to promote the defense of our religious liberty.

Reflection question

Gospel Meditation

Please consider using the following question for the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time (July 14):

  • The story in today’s Gospel is so vivid that you can see the man lying bloodied on the side of the road. It is the beautiful story of what has come to be known as, “The Good Samaritan.” But its purpose is to instruct us to understand what it means to love our neighbor and to love God. How do you demonstrate your belief in Christ by actions of love toward others? What accepted practices are present in our society today but are contrary to the Gospel?
